They See Me Rollin'
5670 Rue Jarry E, Montréal, QC H1P 1V5
Jarry Est is home to a little bakery and pretzel shop that is definitely worth a visit. Dolce Vita and Bretzel & Compagnie are owned by a sweet couple, Bronwyn and Andreas, who invited me to come spend a Sunday with them at their shop to try my hand at pretzel-rolling. Little did I know, there is technique and skill involved, and I think I'll just stick to blogging. A friend and I had so much fun rolling and taste testing along with the couple's adorable 5-year old twin boys. You could find them and their little brother running around the bakery on any given day. It is so obvious that they just love being there, and we could easily see why!So, what could you find at Bretzel et Compagnie? Pretzels of course. From Cheddar & Chili, to Maple Bacon, these soft pretzels are unlike any others in the city. Andreas' father from Germany handed down the recipe to these twisted treats, and they are indeed the real deal. The couple also make pizzas, pastries, and cannoli that they fill with ricotta cream right before your eyes - ALL from scratch. Whether grabbing a soft pretzel or pastry, and a cappuccino, I guarantee a visit to this little bakery will put a smile on your face.

| The reason this pretzel looks slightly deformed, is because I made it! Like I said....I'm going to stick to blogging and eating and leave the baking to Andreas and Bronwyn! |
